Renee Palma

Renee Overton-Palma is the Founder and CEO of The Palma Project, LLC a business service firm specializing in delivering highly effective training and consulting. The Palma Project is committed to partnering with their clients to deliver a flexible combination of services that are tailored to meet their needs.

 

Renee is a dynamic technology and business leader, and was a long-time employee of Optum, a leading Information and technology-enabled health services business where she led large program/project management teams and portfolios in excess of $180M. Having also spent time in financial services and government, Renee holds 20 plus years of experience and wins in software development, portfolio management, change management, process development, and operations to name a few. She has a successful history and passion for all things leadership and development, making it a career purpose to continue to give back, bring a seat to the table for, and invest in the leaders of tomorrow.

 

Renee is a long-time certified project management professional (PMP) in addition to her multiple certifications in software development. She is a member in good standing of the Central Florida Chapter of PMI. PMI is the leading not-for-profit professional membership association for the project management profession setting globally recognized standards, certifications, education and professional development. Renee is the founder of the Chocolata’s, an African-American accomplished and influential women’s networking group committed to uplifting women of color in Central Florida. She is also a youth mentor for The Greatest Investment (TGI) and a youth leader for her church. She holds a B.A. from the University of Connecticut, and a master’s certificate in IT project management from The George Washington University. Originally from the Bronx, New York, Renee migrated to Orlando in 2014 to support her husband’s work with Kennedy Space Center. When she’s not working, Renee is juggling the activities of their three children, or partnering with a local community event.

 

Certifications include: Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Process Design Engineer (CPDE), and Certified Agile Process Owner (CAPO).
